Research and sensemaking
I combine qualitative research, program data, synthesis, and systems thinking to understand what is happening beneath the visible problem.
My work sits at the intersection of people, business, and technology. Grounded in design and research, my practice expanded into the systems around products—how teams collaborate, organizations build capability, and new technologies reshape work.
Today, I lead across research, experience strategy, transformation, and AI—bringing multidisciplinary teams together to turn specialized knowledge and emerging possibilities into practical products, services, and sustained change.
I combine qualitative research, program data, synthesis, and systems thinking to understand what is happening beneath the visible problem.
I frame opportunities, clarify assumptions, establish principles, and help teams decide where change can create meaningful value.
I translate ideas into prototypes, experiences, frameworks, and working products that people can evaluate.
I connect strategy with capabilities, workflows, leadership, measurement, and everyday practices so change has a stronger chance of lasting.
I bring evidence into strategic conversations, translate ambiguity into shared direction, and stay close to implementation as ideas become products, services, and new ways of working.
Clarify the problem, its boundaries, and the assumptions shaping it.
Connect human needs with organizational, business, operational, and technological realities.
Use research, program data, prototypes, testing, and measurement to improve decisions.
Build shared understanding among people with different responsibilities and perspectives.
Remain involved as strategy becomes an experience, capability, workflow, prototype, or working product.
Create approaches, patterns, tools, and capabilities other people can use.
I investigate the problem, the people involved, and the larger system before deciding what the answer should be.
I work across direction and execution—framing the opportunity while remaining close to the research, testing, design, and building that make it real.
I value different forms of expertise and create shared understanding across disciplines. I bring a clear design perspective and make its reasoning visible.
I make assumptions explicit, propose how success should be evaluated, and use qualitative and quantitative evidence to decide what should advance, change, or stop.
Colleagues describe how I frame complex problems, work across disciplines, and translate ambitious ideas into practical change.
“What distinguishes Azul… is how she frames problems before solving them. She asks: Who does this serve? What system does it change? Will it last?”

I’m also an interdisciplinary artist working across works on paper, textiles, natural materials, and technology. My practice keeps me connected to visual culture, ecology, material experimentation, and a wider community of artists and ideas.
I value having a creative practice alongside my professional life—it keeps me observant, curious, and engaged with the world beyond work.
What’s next
Complex change needs people who can connect strategy, evidence, experience, and implementation.
I’m interested in opportunities to bring this experience to teams working across transformation, innovation, and AI—particularly where complex problems benefit from research, systems thinking, experimentation, and collaboration.
